Doriane Pin Announces Future Focus on Endurance Racing and Hypercar Ambitions
In an interview with Canal+, Pin shared her plans to balance her new endurance focus with her ongoing role at Mercedes F1, where she has begun working in the team’s simulator and could soon undertake an on-track test.
From F1 Academy Champion to Endurance Ambitions
Pin’s 2025 season was a breakthrough year. After finishing as vice-champion in 2024, she dominated the F1 Academy field in 2025, securing the title with Prema Racing and Mercedes’ support. Her success earned her the nickname « the Pocket Rocket » and confirmed her status as one of the sport’s brightest talents.
Despite her single-seater success, Pin’s heart has always been drawn to endurance racing. « The goal is to be at Le Mans in Hypercar, » she told Eurosport. The Hypercar class—home to manufacturers like Toyota, Porsche, and Ferrari—represents the pinnacle of endurance racing, and Pin is eager to prove herself among the elite.
« We are still in discussions for 2026, but the plan is to focus more on endurance racing with the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Hypercar as a short-term project. »
Balancing Endurance and F1 Opportunities
While Pin’s immediate future leans toward endurance, she is not turning her back on single-seaters. Her relationship with Mercedes F1 remains strong, and she has already begun working in the team’s simulator at their Brackley headquarters.
« I started the F1 simulator last week, and if everything goes well, there could be a test planned, » she revealed. This dual focus reflects Pin’s long-term ambition: to remain open to all top-tier motorsport opportunities.
The Iron Dames Connection
Pin’s endurance ambitions are closely tied to her ongoing collaboration with the Iron Dames, the pioneering all-female team that has been a cornerstone of her career. Having competed in WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the team previously, she aims to repay their trust by performing at the highest level in the top class.
